YAY - I was chosen in the Top 3 for this card:
Hey all, well hopefully there are no more blogger bugs, because I have a card to show for the "Shopping Our Stash" Challenge blog. This is their first official challenge, and they wanted us to get out our Ribbons. Our oldest ribbon, even a ribbon we have too much of, or just to use our ribbon in a new different way!
I, being difficult, decided to do all 3.
I've had this blue satin ribon in my sewing stash for at least a year and a half, and I have LOTS of it, Bought it on a reel on ebay, and it seems to just stay at what feels like hundreds of metres!
I had seen a few versions of a "heated" ribbon flower, where you use your heat gun and warp the edges of some slitted ribbon to make it like petals, then create a flower out of it. So I decided to give it a go and am very pleased with the results.... Heres my simple card using one of these warped ribbon flowers:
I used shimmery/metallic type papers, which you can slightly see.
These are links to two different VIDEO tutorials for making this flower:
Joans Daily Stampede - The technique I used
and
DO Stamping - creating the flower then using the Heat Tool.
Also, Just really wanted to show you the two Strawberry plants I have bought, to hopefully grow my own Strawberries, which I love!
They are already starting to flower, and theres one green Berry bud coming up there!
*squeal*
(oh and you can see the frills on the flower)
Hope you like this card, its going to a my friend Kelly's Mother who isn't doing too well at the moment, hope this can cheer her!
