Morning All!

Heading into Valentine mode slowly, with this card I have to show today!

This is a stamp from a Kaisercraft set I have called 'Bonjour'.

I stamped it in brown, then broke out my old watercolour pencils to add some colour here and there!

Finished off with brown borders, and this pink chery blossom like paper also from Kaisercraft, a paper pad called 'Miss Nelly'.

The sentiment is a no name one from in my stash.

I hope you like this card, I am quite please with how this came out!

Colourful Beach Bag...

Hi all, I have another sewing project for you. Unfortunately I think I bit off a bit much more than I could sew with this one, had all sorts of disasters, and the finished results isn't as 'finished' as I would have liked, but oh well!

So here is my colourful beach bag:

Each side of the bag is different, but with matching fabrics:

And I just used white for the lining and handles, Also added some pockets.

I hope to start on some Valentine cards next.

Two Quilt Blocks!

I stumbled upon a FREE online class that is happening over at Craftsy, called "Block of the Month" and what it does is show you step by step how to make one or two quilt blocks each month for the entire year, so at the end of the year you end up with an entire quilt of blocks and techniques you have learned!

I personally have really found them to be beneficial in helping me learn and the two blocks for January are super simple, check them out:

The one of the left is an Asterisk Block and the one on the right is called a Wonky Pound sign! My pound sign is a little extra wonky with one of my lines not quite matching up, but its all part of the charm right!?

I chose these groovy mod yellow, black and grey fabrics, that came in a bundle from my local spotlight! And all of my blocks will be made out of these pack of fabrics to tie them in!

I am so looking forward to next months class and blocks, its truly exciting to be quilting and sewing!!!

Just stamped out these three cocktails and coloured with copics, and layered them on a white card with some tropical papers I had in stash (I believe they are Stampin Up).

I made this simple red and blue card to mimic the Australia flag with this adorable Scooter Roo, that I coloured with watercolour pencils.

Finished it off with a border of embossing and this sentiment that came with the Roo stamp.

I hope you like him, and I hope wherever you are in the world you have an Aussie filled day!

Its raining down hard here, and has been for a few days so mine will be quiet.

Craftmad Patches!

Hello all, I have some sewing projects to show you today!

These are 3 patches I made for a patch swap over at Craftmad. This month was to make a Rail Fence block... This will be going on for 3 months, so that at the end we will have enough patches to make a mini quilt!

This first patch was sent to Merry.

This second one was to Cathy.

and this 3rd and last was sent to Mandy.

2 Collage Cards...

Hi all! I am terribly sorry for my absence from blog-world. I've just had a busy week; going out everyday, and not crafting. But today I made two very different cards, some collage cards.

I used some kaiser collage paper from the "vintage timeless" paper pad. Added some stamped images onto them, as well as some washi tape. Distressed the edges and did some inking and blending, and this is what came out.

I must admit I was just playing around with the concept, but I happen to like how these collage typecards came out!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday, so of course I made a Birthday Card for him for the occasion!

I chose this great plummer/handyman type digi image, which just reminded me of my dad! lol!!! He is the handyman and Mr Fix-it of the house, so it only seemed appropriate to use this image along with the Kaisercraft paper pad "Konstrukt".

Also added these great tool charms!

Image coloured with copics, and blended around the edges with distress ink!

I even put some paper inside the card to match, for when I wrote in it later.

I hope you liked seeing this make card, its one of the better male cards I have done I think.

Tropical Tranquil Scrap-Page!

Using the same papers as yesterday and another beach photograph:

I used the negative from yesterdays circle to frame the photo!

Added bling to the flowers.

and these were pre diecut letters.

Tropical Marina Scrap-Page!

Good Day all! I hope you are enjoying the week! This is my first day home for a while! I just keep finding reasons to go out and do errands and stopping by the craft store... lol! Today felt like a scrapping day, and I just bought some half priced Tropical Papers, so I wanted to get and use those today! I chose a photograph I took a few months back down at the Marina of some boats, that was taken in a super vivid mode...

The flowers were from the sweet Michelle of I Luv Scrapping! Who sent me them along with some other goodies!

I used my cricut to cut the circles and the title, and I distressed the edges of everything for interest.

Easel Calendar!

Hiya everyone, Hope you are having a good weekend so far!

I have wanted to make an Easel Card for a while, and for whatever reason never got around to it. Today I made one, and added a mini calendar to it to make it useful for all year around!

The stamp is a Wild Rose Studio's stamp called Milton and Millie which I found just adorable!

Coloured with copics!

I chose the light blue and red colour combo for something different and bright, and just some buttons to embellish!

Two 'Peachy Keen' Cards

Good day to you all! Well its certainly been a busy week for me. I've been out everyday this week, running errands and going to Doctor's appointments! But all is good, because I have got a lot of great bargains lately too! Lots of neat New Years sales, where I have snapped up Paper Pads, embellishments, twine, charms, doilies etc! So I am stoked!

One of the paper pads I got cheaply, was Kaisercraft 'Peachy Keen' and it even came with diecuts! So I tried my hand at making a couple of cards just out of this pad today:

All I had to do was punch a border and stamp a sentiment!

They were super simple and I just love the birds on the diecuts and the great colour combinations!

Morning All, sorry this post is a little late! For some reason I was thinking the challenge wasn't on until the 4th!? Anywho! It is indeed time for a NEW challenge at Unstampabelles! And this month is SUPER easy because ANYTHING GOES!!! Just so long as no stamps are used, like our namesake says!

Here is my example card for this challenge;

I used my Cricut and the cartridge Art Nouveau for the numbers font and shadow, and pattern papers from the Cosmo Cricket line "Salt Air".

It looks very retro with the colours and cubes which I like!

Table Runner and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

First off let me say Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2012 is everything you want it to be and more!

This is a pic from the Newspaper this morning of the Jetty area here in town where they had fireworks. I didn't go as I am not a night person and neither is the family, we were all asleep before midnight and never heard a peep!

But I have been working on a Table Runner for my Mother, she chose some Autumny fabrics that she wanted a table runner made out of, and today I got stuck in and got it done within just a few hours, it was incredibly easy and fulfilling!!!

I have to say I am pretty chuffed with how it came together. and so was Mum! She has 'ordered' 2 more to match, so that she can have matching runners for the coffee and dinning tables!!! lol!

Crazy 9 Patch Patchwork mini Runner!

Hello all! I hope this finds you well!

Something quite different from me today, a sewing project!

I got the sewing bug a few days ago, and have been looking at different videos and ideas online to try and hone my skills and learn more. Today when I spotted this crazy 9 patch tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEjZOXxPazg ... I just got inspired to try it out! Instead of doing a quilt I just made a mini table runner for my room...

Now its not perfect, the patches are not perfectly angled or squared, and neither are my corners, But I will get better, especially with the right tools!

So this is how it started, 9 patches of fabric stitched together:

Each mini patch was 4 inches square and cut by hand.

I did two of these for the runner.

Then you just cut up the middle both ways on the patch, to make 4 patches again, arrange them so it looks all scrappy and mismatched , with all the different sizes of patches mismatched to be fun!

Sew those and then your front is done, then it was just a matter of sewing the back of the runner inside out, flipping it to right side and sewing it shut.

Here it is on my bookshelf in my bedroom, under my quote plaques and the lovely Owl's that Kelly sewed for me for my birthday!

Hello everyone, I hope your Christmas was wonderful and happy and that you all got properly spoilt!

We had a good day of eating lots and watching Christmas TV Specials... You really can't go past that Burl Ives special, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, can you? I watch it every year on TV ever since I can remember! And I always enjoy it!

Anywho onto my Card for today... This uses a lovely Sweet Pea stamp I received in my card from dear Lynn of Lynn's Designer Creations, so that was a very generous and unexpected gift I received! And knew I just had to put it to work soon so here we go:

Two more favour boxes AND some Rocky Road!

Hi all, thanks for all your lovely messages!

I have another two favour boxes to show, which are the same as yesterday, just initialled on the back for the two kids we are giving them to.

All done using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

And Next I wanted to show you what I plan to put into these favour boxes (along with the candy canes)...

ROCKY ROAD!!!

This is my Christmassy white chocolate version, which is simple to make!

All it is is a packet of pastel mini marshmallows

A packet of Raspberry Lollies, Chooped.

A half a cup of dessicated coconut.

And a 350g Packet of White Chocolate Buttons, melted down and mixed together.
Let set in a shallow pan with baking paper in the fridge.

Then chop into tiny bitesized pieces, because it is very sweet and rich!

PERFECT for gifties and favours!!!

Santa Belt Favor Box...

Today I have a favour box that I made yesterday, inspired by Santa himself...

Just a red basic basket favour box, made with my Art Philosophy Cartridge, and the buckle was also from Art philosphy! Slid onto some black card as his belt!

Added these praline pudding chocolates, which are delicious btw!

and voila! a simple quick and easy christmas favor box!

Yellow Layout

Good Day to you all! Its only 10 Sleeps until Christmas!!! I hope you are all getting organised!

I've been continuing to play with my Christmas present Camera! and playing with the settings. and When I found a colour picker setting on it, I was overjoyed with this photo I got of some flowers in our backyard:

and I decided immediately that I wanted to scrap it!

So here is the Yellow scrappage:

I decided to keep with just 3 colours, black white and yellow.

I used my Art Nouveau cartridge for this lovely swan and also the font for the title.

These flowers were made from Martha Stewart Hydrangea Punches.

So there you go, I hope you like this Yellow scrappage!

Hi all, I got my Christmas present early this year. I got myself a brand new good quality camera, which is something I have been after for a while now! Its a Canon g12 if that means anything to anyone. So I thought it might be nice to show you some photos I had been taking. Hope you enjoy them!!!

First, the Christmas Tree! Just had to share that! We just have a small fake Christmas Tree, Its only about 4 foot tall! But suits us 3 living in our little house.

I love lots of lights and crystally see through ornaments for the tree!

Next the poor cat had to 'pose' for me...

He's like 'sigh' get this over with! You're disrupting my naptime you know :-p

Yesterday I went to the beach, well actually just along the breakwall of the inlet here.

Just after sunrise, and got a few neat shots:

Here I caught a seafull flying alongside the car and the cliffs of the breakwall here:

A boat in the Foreshores, with the Jetty that you can walk out on in the background.

I do love this area of our town!

And finally a dynamic shot I got using one of the vivid settings on the camera, of some boats in the marina:

Last day of Tags!

Hi all, well thats it! The Tim Holtz 12 days of Tags is official over.

For my last day I just did a couple of 'free range' tags:

Accidently smudged the bottom bit.
I honestly can't remember what inks I used, a couple of the distress orange ones? Spritz with water and dragged the tag through. And then spritz it with a metallic red glimmermist.
I love this rusty effect.

Next heat embossed the corners, and blending two blue distress inks onto the tag. added this lion stamp and a word paperclip and some gems... just noticed one of the gems fell off! Oops!

Have to say I am glad these tags are over, lol! As much fun as I have had making them, I am looking forward to Making some other Christmas Crafts!

Hi all, not long left for the 12 tags of Christmas from Tim Holtz. Here are my latest two tags, inspired by his latest two tags:

For this tag, I stamped out a christmas music background stamp with versamark and clear heat embossed it, then went over it in walnut stain, distress stain! I love how it makes the embossing POP!

Then simply added a vintage santa from some paper I had in scraps, and a Merry Tag.

Used Fired Brick for the background, and flicked droplets of water on it to make this neat effect on the background. Then just went in with black ink for santa the sentiment and some holly.

700th Post and Tags 8 & 9...

YEAH BABY I've joined the 700 club, this is my 700th post!!!

Today I have to share my Tim Holtz inspired tags for days 8 and 9...

Instead of using the unhristmassy men stamp, I chose a santa popping out of the chimney, coupled with the sunsetty colours, it kind of looks like his last stop as the sign rises? Not that I intended it that way, but like how it came out nonetheless.

I tried the embossing with green and red on this tag, but I think I need a chunkier background that this delicate one I have here. Found a lamp cut on a cartridge, and stamped a sentiment down the side.

Not my favourite tags I must admit, but I am enjoying making them regardless!

Tags 6 and 7

Hi again all, time for tags 6 and 7 now of the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas!

This one inspired by his day 7 tag.

I simply scrunched up the tag, and then went over it in Tea Dye and Antique Linen Distress Inks, and also spritz it with water! Added the sentient and these paper leaves and poinsettia!

Next is a variation of the painted tag he did.

Instead of Paint I used metallic rubon paste over an embossed tag.

Also went over parts with smooch accent ink.

But again not overly happy with this technique.

Much prefer the first tag today!

Tag day 4 and 5...

Today I have two tags, inspired by Tim Holtz'es day 4 and 5 of his twelve tags of Christmas:

I used a mixture of distress inks for the background, (peeled paint, weather wood and brushed olive I believe) and then stamped around the border with a flourish stamp, Then cut this reindeer with my cricut and went over it in gemclear. Finally added a bottlecap and some branches...

Used some more distress inks for the background (barn door and wild honey) and went over in some dots and script text, and also a base flourish that I wasn't happy with, so went over it with a wreath cut from my cricut. The sentiment I went off the tag a bit on, but oh well... makes it more rustic huh!?

Christmas Sticker Challenge!

I just used scraps of various Christmas paper I had left over from other christmas projects to make a crazy angled background with strips of them, then onto a white card base and just a white oval for this cool 3d sticker I had in stash to go onto!

BUTTON WREATH! and Tag 3...

Morning all! I have a project I have been working on for a few days to show!

Its a mini foam wreath of 6 inches, that I decided to paint cover in Buttons!!!

So as you can see just kept to red and green buttons, of all different sizes and styles, and I really like the effect this gave! I am going to hang it on our front screen door!

NOW onto Tim Holtz Tag Day 3...

I have to admit, I wasn't overly impressed with today's tag, and the only thing I had similar was an embossing folder. So I did the letterpress technique again with it, and just went over it with some silver ink:

Very simple, and yeah not sure I am fond of it, but my main project today IS the wreath, so I hope you enjoy that!!!

Tag day 2

Hello again, thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday! I hope today's tags do not disappoint!

and I say tags because I did two today, from the inspiration post that Tim Holtz made on his Day 2 post.

Since I don't have any Kraft Resist paper, I just used some sheetmusic paper and went over it with Weathered Wood Distress Stain. Chose a starry border punch for the base and inked it in a silver inkpad. And this lovely blue reindeer cut from my Cricut cartridge Winter Woodland.

Added glitter glue for some sparkle!

Same deal with the first tag really, just Peeled Paint Distress Stain for my sheet music and distressed the edges. Cut this tree again from Winter Woodland, and just added some Distress Inky goodness to it, and also stamped a checkered bit down the side which gave it a nice effect, finished it off with more glitter glue and a wish stamp.

12 Tags of Christmas - DAY 1!

Hello all, I hope this finds you happy and well!

Tim Holtz is at it again with his 12 tags of Christmas, and I have decided to play along with him this year and simply add my own spin to his tag ideas!

Here is the link and photo to his Day 1 tag:

Now I tried my hand at making these pinecones, but I just could not get them to look right for me!

So I changed it up, and here is my version of this tag:

For the base I did the letterpress technique, with some peeled paint ink and an Damask embossing folder through my cuttlebug.

I used these pre-done vintage chipboard letters from K&Company, and then these leaves, and simply cut a nice flower from one of my Cricut Cartridges.

and voila! Similarities yet differences from his tag and mine, but I want these to certain be my own, not just completely copied too. So I hope you like what I've done.

Simple Crackle Tag

I just have a simple tag to show you. For the base I used Crackle Paint for the first time, and then went over it in a sunray stamp in a slightly darker colour, then finished it off with this vintage lady stamp:

Birthday Pics

Hi all, I had a wonderful birthday yesterday! Although it was very wet with rain and dark too!

I didn't do much, mainly chilled out with my new T-box (kind of like Tivo). My internet and phone provider upgraded my service for free after a complaint about their crappy service for premium price, so for once complaining actually worked in my favour lol!!! So I can rent movies and watch TV on this thing, as well as record TV, and also go online and view Youtube Videos, picasa photos, and play games and such! So its pretty cool so far!!!

For my birthday my parents got me a yummy chocolate mudcake:

My Aunty sent me a lovely card and some cash!

My Parents also gave me some money early, so I could buy myself whatever I wanted.

So I chose to buy some Distress Inks for myself and a couple of stains:

So also yesterday I had been playing around with them, on some mini tags with some stamps:

Now the present that I am MOST impressed with is from a dear friend from Sydney, named Kristy, who isn't on the blogs. But she is super talented when it comes to cooking and making things look perfect!

When I got this package in the post yesterday I was simply amazed:

She had MADE me Patrick Starr (from Spongebob Squarepants) Cookies!!!

the attention to detail is amazing!

The look, AND TASTE, perfect and SO professional!!!

So I really had an amazing day!

3D Christmas Tree Box!

Hello All! Its a wet miserable day here! and its SO incredibly Dark today too! I was supposed to go the local Butterfly House with fellow birthday-er Kelly (do go and wish her a Happy Birthday!) but because of the weather we have rescheduled for next week! So I am looking forward to that! I will be sure to post pics when we go!

So in the meantime I decided to do something constructive today. I have these SVG's from SVGCUTS to make an awesome 3d Christmas Tree Treat Box... It was easier than you would think, and quick to put together; check it out:

I chose a traditional red, green and white pattern papers from the same cheap paper stack I got from Spotlight!

This would be great to add some little chocolates into and to give to a friend for Christmas, and then of course and be used as a deocration on a desk or table!

I am so loving SVG's and plan to make more from them on my Cricut soon!

Wreath Card with Tree's!

Good Day all, I hope you are having a great week!

I have had a great few days so far, got some birthday money early from my dear Mum and Dad, and so Thanks to them I spoiled myself with some crafty bits and pieces, mainly ordered myself some Distress Inks and Stains and even some crackle paint. I hope to do the Tim Holtz Tags along with him this year!

Anywho onto my card for today. This is an idea that I found over at Fiskars where they made a wreath out of tree punchouts, and I simply loved the idea so knew I had to recreate it myself, and also bossed my friend Kelly into doing it with me yesterday while she was here for a visit, hers should be on her blog soon!

This is a card that would go perfect for the current Unstampabelles Challenge, using just diecuts from my Cricut and Punches, and the sentiment is a rubon from Kaisercraft.

Scrap page using Art Nouveau!

Hello all, today I have a scrap page to share that I was inspired to create this morning from a challenge over at ScrappyKat. Which was to use a white background, 1 photo and brightly coloured embellishments... Here my page is using all cuts from my most recent Cricut Cartridge purchase; Art Nouveau!

I just thought this cartridge really worked well with this photograph I had taken at our local Botanic Gardens Japanese Koi Lake! This was taken on a day where they were having a japanese festival, and had these koi fish kites flying over the bridge, you can see the original post HERE of that day with more photos. So I am glad to start scrapping these moments and hope to do more soon!!!

Not much was done here, the weird hot then stormy weather left me having a rather lazy one!

But I did colour a fair few images in, and then this morning made a card with a cut given to me by Kelly last time she was here. I had an idea to do a play on words with the Kimono cut, so hopefully it has worked:

Hello again all! Hope you are doing fine!

Summer has well and truly hit us here, with temperatures at 35 Degree Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) today! So I have been hibernating inside in the air-conditioning, and whipped up a card out of a new stamp that I have had for just a short time from a stamp company I had never heard of before called "Some Odd Girl" This is "Dancin' Mae"...

I just love the manga/anime look to these stamps and can see them becoming a quick favourite of mine!

I used what copics I had to colour her in, and tried my best to shade and create texture, I think I did pretty good?

So I really hope you like this card, and hope you are having a great week so far!!!

HOMEMADE ADVENT CALENDAR!

Good Day all, I am back in full action, with a magor craft project I took on yesterday!

I had been looking at advent calendars, and wanted to make my own. But trying to create an idea from scratch was hard for me. But then I found an SVG file (a digital cut file to use on my Cricut with the "Make The Cut" software), over at SVGCUTS. And I absolutely loved it. And altho it looked tricky and fiddley I decided to get to work and try my hand at it!!!

and here is my finished result:

It was a lot of cuts and parts:

They alone took me an hour to cut them all out!

Then it was down to assembling the interior boxes:

and its sides:

Then the back:

But then VOILA!

The decorated front and all its layers came together and It was allvdone within two short days, and it was actually two half days, so could be done in one, if you were so inclined! Check it out:

I used Kaisercraft Papers that had a very vintage and muted look and feel, because I wanted something kind of non-traditional since this was going to be a very non-traditional advent calendar!

Its really sturdy, and I just love the compartments to add a little chocolate, or tree ornament or giftie in as the days of Christmas pass by:

So I hope I haven't gone too crazy with the pics!

I must admit I am so happy with this project and also amazed that I myself did it!

Its very addicting these 3d objects and now I know I can use SVG's, I think this is something I am going to do more of!!!

2x Christmas Cards... Festive Friday on a Sunday!

WOW Its been almost a week since my last post here and since I've commented on ANY of your awesome blogs and creations in return! And for that I am super sorry!

Again I am finding my time just slipping away from me with just the general running of the household and keeping up with the pets. But I've also had visits from friends that have been in town and its been wonderful to catch up and be social in real life not just on the blog! But this social thing sure does take away from my crafting and blog time! lol!

BUT Today I have 2x Christmas cards to share, that are simple and actually made from a base template I found over at a blog called Creativity Prompt...

I printed the template from the above blog onto Kraft Cardstock which I LOVE!

and then just cut some pattern paper squares, added this awesome ribbon I received off Kelly!

and finally these diecut Christmas shapes from a Quickutz Cookie Cutter set of dies I have in my stash.

Simple yet effective I think these are!

This brings my total Christmas Card tally upto 42!

BUT I have to make a list of who I need to send Christmas Cards to!

SO if you could all please email me with your addresses so I could tally up how many I need and get started on enveloping to send internationally, and locally, that would be fantastic!

She is obsessed with Ice Cream sundae's and Banana Splits at the moment, so a Sundae inspired card was best for her, check it out:

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!

Hello friends, I hope this finds you well!

I was super surprised yesterday when I received a Spongebob Cricut Cartridge in the post from some dear group of friends on a facebook group I am a part of, who pooled together to buy it for me!

As many know I just love Spongebob, I'm really not sure why? Maybe its his positive outlook? But anyway I got to work playing with my new surprise cartridge, and here are the cuts I've made so far:

I have made a Spongebob, a Patrick and a random girl fish...

I am really impressed with the cartridge and how the cuts came out.

They look very realistic to me, and I cannot wait to make some more!

Butterfly Wishes

I have a Butterfly card that I did today, that I referenced from an image I saw over on the Lawn Fawn Blog. But gave it my own spin, just taking the generally idea of 5 butterflies down the side:

The Butterflies were cut on my cricut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.

The border was done with Fiskars sunburst border punch.
And the sentiment is just from a no name set.

OH the paper is Pink Paislee pad, but I have lost the coversheet to know which one it was.

I kept with the blue and brown theme and I think it came out well.

I hope you like this one, I think it came out pretty well!

Autumn Card for Unstampabelles!

Hi again all, now its time for my properly Autumn/Fall themed card for Unstampabelles:

This is certainly more appropriate for the theme!

I used this pumpkin and leaf border both cut from the Cricut Holiday Cakes Cartridge, on a nestie circle.

The background paper is simply crinkled all up. I unfolded it, and did go over it with a bit of orange ink to define the crinkles and then once dry, flattened it out to stick on my card. I really like how this came out!

I hope you like this Halloween and Autumn inspired card, and hope you might make a creation for Unstampabelles this month!

Wheelbarrow full of Flowers!

This card originally mean't for for Unstampabelles current challenge, but it came out WAY too bright and springy to fit the Autumn/Fall theme!!!

This is a Cricut cut wheelbarrow from the Freshly Picked Cartridge and I filled it with paper flowers form my stash with brads centres. The sentiment is a rubon.

Hope I haven't blinded you with all the colours, guess you can see why I really wasn't appropriate for the the fall challenge! But I have something else for that coming up soon, So stay tuned!

Fairy Friend!

I have another card I made featuring another Wild Rose Studio image from my new stamp stash!

This one is called "Ella with wand"

Done on a white card, base and coloured with Copics.

Also used lots of glitter for her wings and dress!

Using Helmars tacky craft glue to attach the glitter, and I am super impressed with this glue!!!

Just LOVE the sparkle!

The sentiment is from a 'Designs by Leere' sentiment set in my stash.

Mia with Bouquet!

Morning! Promised I would have a creation for you today, and I used one of my new stamps from Wild Rose Studio, Mia with Bouquet to make this card:

I paper pieced her dress and used the same paper for the background to tie it in.
Coloured her with Copics and got out my trusty Cuttlebug and Nestabilities to make the ovals and scallops.

I hope you like her!

I plan to get around to crafting more than I have been, I just keep getting distracted with things and my days go by so quickly!

So I am making a conscious effort, but feel free to keep me motivated and to send me ideas and sketches, challenges etc!

Falling for Autumn at Unstampabelles!

Its a new month, which means its time for a new challenge at Unstampabelles!

This time we want to see your Fall or Autumn creations, and if you like; to perhaps add a bit of stitching on your creations! As always with Unstampabelles there are no stamps allowed, so a great way to get back to basics and using your stash! Here is my example DT card:

This adorable scarecrow girl is cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge.

I did try to go around some areas with a gel pen and add some faux stitching, but its not really coming up in the pic. The Sentiment is a Rub-On.

Sweet Popsicle Card

Hello! I have a yummy treat card to show today using some Popsicle cuts from my Simply Charmed Cartridge:

I inked around the edges of the popsicles, and also on their 'bites', then gave them these cute faces! Which are actually stamps mean't for the sizzix paper dolls, but they work well here too I thought!
I just love their cheeky faces!

Robot Cards!

Hi All, something different for me today, some boy themed robot cards!

I had got a few 6x6 stacks of pattern paper from a cheap shop in town, and didn't realise one was kid/boy themed, with robots and dinosaurs, BUT a mistake turned into a blessing when I found some robot cuts on my Birthday Cakes Cartridge, so heres what I managed to do with them:

I'm quite pleased with how this different theme of card came out for me!

I changed my avatar pic, to one I took today of me and my Galah Paddy when he had some out of cage time, it was a classic shot where he just snuggled up to me and happened to look at the camera at the right moment!

Btu don't look too close as my hair isn't done, I have no make-up on and I am still in my pyjamas! LOL

Washi Cards

Hi All, sorry for the few and far between posts lately, I really have no good excuse again. I am just turning into a BAD Blogger and Crafter!!!

BUT I have two simple cards today using my favourite new product Washi Tape! From Sawyers Place which I am on the Design Team for.

For this card I took advantage of the masking tape quality and the 'ripability' to make a distressed kind of card, making a border and frame with two different washi's with a ripped edge!

Added these stamps from a CTMH Stamp Set.

For this one I used the Blue Merry Christmas Washi along the bottom and then lots of stamping again from a CTMH Set, and for the snowflakes used washi tape that had been put down onto some card and punched!

I also want to share with you the newest designs of Washi in at Sawyers Place:

These gorgeous flower, lace and animal print designs which I really love and can't wait to get my mits on!

Door Hanger!

Well have I had fun pawing through my CTMH Art philosophy Cartridge and goodies that came Yesterday! In flipping through my handbook I immediately knew I wanted to try a 3D Object! What really caught my eye was a pocketed Door Hanger cut, so I went to work and heres what I made:

I cut it in hot Pink cardstock first, and then in this great striped pattern paper I had in my stash to decorate it in!

For the pocket I used one of the Chipboard pieces inked up and the alphabet set that came with my goodies.

And finished the pocket off with some flowers, and hot pink bling!

I really like the colours of this patterned paper and how it all came together!

CTMH Art Philosophy!

I am SO excited to share with you something I got in the post today that I had ordered from a Close To My Heart Rep in America! Who went to all the trouble to post it to me here in Australia.

The new Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge!

Because when I ordered last month they were having a great deal on extras and stamp of the month I also got those too, so checkout pics of what I got:

So it came with the cartridge, 3 sets of chipboard that match the cuts, as well as 3 sets of stamps that match the cuts too!

The botton 3 stamp sets were the bonuses I got and stamp of the month, which I LOVE too!

They have even ingeniously printed on the stamp info what size to cut them at the match your stamps!

The Extras

Apologies for not having a sheet of paper behind the other one... Lots of sentiments and images which are great.

A mini alphabet which will come in SO handy, and HOW GREAT is this Sassy Witch? I love her!

My collection of goodies and back of my cart.

There are HEAPS of different images on this cartridge, from labels, tags, frames, seasonal items, even an alphabet font, and doilies and paper lace! Plus what I am most excited about Rolled Flowers and giftboxes fr all shapes:

Each button on this cartridge features 16 different cuts, so calculate that over the 50 buttons, gives you 800 different cuts! So while this cartridge was on the expensive side, I did find that it was well worth it! Especially taking advantage of the extras they had in place last month!

So this was my first big purchase in a while, and will be my last in a while too.

So I simply HAD to share with you!

I am so excited to get to use this!

Now to tidy my craftdesk quick so I can get to work! hehehe

Animal Challenge Reminder!

Morning!

I am here today to remind you of the Unstampabelles Challenge that is still going on all month long!

We want you to use anything BUT stamps for your creations which can be anything you like as long as it meets the theme of ANIMALS for this month! (and no stamps)

Here is a card I made to (hopefully) inspire you to try this challenge:

So this cute Kangaroo was made using a FREE SVG File I found HERE over at SVGCUTS, which they have a lot of great freebies and files to buy too... It cuts out a lot of pieces individually, so its a lot like paper piecing to put it together in a way, but I am really fond of the finished result. In the file it actually comes with a baby in its pouch, but I just wanted the one big Roo!

Sentiment was hand done with a marker (Hoo-Roo is an Aussie term for goodbye/farewell) and I just outlined it with a white gel pen, and just added some flowers with a brad, and this lovely pink and yellow patterned paper!

I have a dark male themed card to share today, featuring an Emu!

OK so the cut actually says Ostrich, but I coloured him to make an Emu, does that count!?

He is a cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge, which I don't actually own yet, it was loaned to me by friend Kelly.

I also tried a different type of layout that I had in my head, but I'm sure I've seen on the blogs somewhere before!

Sketch-a-Thon Scrap-page!

Over at Sketches For All they are having an End of Summer Sketch-a-thon!

and my dear friend Michelle has a sketch going for Sketch #1 and to support her and the challenge I thought I'd try it out! Heres the sketch:

And heres my scrappage based on it, featuring our family dog Molly, the Siberian Husky:

The huge scallop circle was diecut on my cricut, using the Elegant Cake Art Cartridge, also the scallop border is from the same cartridge.

The Alpha Font is from the Birthday Cakes Cartridge, and the Flourishes are from the Stamping Solutions Cartridge, So lots of carts and cuts here!

The flowers are just paper/mulberry ones I had in my stash, and the pattern papers are Pink Paislee from the Bayberry Cottage collection!

I just really liked the denim blue with the lime green, seemed like a great colour combo when I was going through my stash!

I haven't done a scrap page in a long while, so it was really nice to get to doing that, so here's hoping I get to do some more soon!

Back in February 2010 I was ready for the end of Summer here in Australia, so made this Autumn Card with lots of warm colours:

A little rough back in the day, I'd like the think my style has improved, but then some are hits and some are misses right?

I just thought this was a neat idea to take part in!

Simple Card for the Stamp Spot Challenge

Hi There, I have a simple card to show today for a challenge happening through September over at The Stamp Spot...

Its a challenge using this gorgeous cake picture as the inspiration:

So using this I came up with this simple card:

This is a bird cut from the Birthday Cakes cartridge, and the border is from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art! Added a googley eye and a stamped sentiment, taking my colours from the photo and voila!

A very simple card, hope you like it!

Snail Mail

Good Day all, I have a card that should be snailing its way to a friend as we speak, so heres hoping she won't see this post just yet...

This was made entirely from the Birthday Bash cartridge, the postage stamp card base, snail and envelope all cut from it. Just the sentiment was printed from the computer, and I added googley eyes cos I just love the look of them!

Really having fun with my cricut, and I'm sorry I haven't been on the blog much lately!

Theres a few reasons, mainly I am just not feeling well, this flu thing is knocking me about, and I have had to change antibiotics. Then I've had a few things that have been stressing me, like my regular doctor leaving town and my credit card got cancelled because of fraud. (even tho it was a transaction I authorised *rolls eyes*) So my minds just been going faster than my body can keep up with, which makes it hard to get to creating; at least for me!

But anyways, sure you don't want to hear about my "first world problems". Obviously unimportant in the great scheme of things. I'll get there!

Unstampabelles - Animals!

Its time for a whole new challenge over at Unstampabelles!

This month we want to see your wild side with ANIMAL Projects! The added extra component if you choose, is to add some dry embossing to your creation. Just remember with our challenge we don't allow stamps, so think outside the box with stickers, diecuts and all that other fun stuff!

Fathers Day Card!

Its Fathers Day tomorrow for a lot of countries, including here in Australia!

So I joyfully made my own dear Dad a card to celebrate his special day, and to show him how much he means to me, check it out:

For the front I just took some co-ordinating papers and layered them all unevenly, and finished off the bottom with a strip of one of the newest designs of Washi Tape from Sawyers Place.

and finished off with a nice font of lettering from the Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge.

I also decorated the inside of my card:

My Dad is the chef of the house, plus the king of the BBQ, so this cut from 3 Birds on Parade really reminded me of him!

I hope you liked my Fathers Day card, and I wish all the Dads a super weekend and hope you all cherish your Dads tomorow!

Sundae Cupcake + Paper Piecing!

Morning All, Sorry that I've been so slack on the blog front!

Life has just become so busy here, and I really have no proper excuse as to why, just general daily duties with pets, keeping house, doing groceries and cooking I am feeling very much like a Cinderella or Snow White character that needs those happy critters to come and help me out to get on top of it all and give me time to craft and blog! LOL!

But anyways, I have a creation today, which is infact my last creation for The Lollipop Ladies!

Its kind of bittersweet to come to the end of something you've worked so hard at, but more sweet than bitter in this case because of the super indulgent last challenge we have for you, check it out:

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes!!!

and the added challenge is to do some Paper Piecing on your project,

so heres my final DT Card:

As you can see I paper pieced these ice cream cones with the same papers I used on the background. All on Kraft cardstock.

I hope you like this card, I'm quite pleased with how it came together!

I should have another card for another challenge soon!

Hi All, as promised here I am back with some more exciting news to share...

I am now a part of ANOTHER Design Team!!!

Introducing Sawyers Place:

This is an Australian small business specialising in Japanese Washi Tapes as well as Fabric tapes and other scrapbooking and cardmaking embellishments.

These tapes are kind of like Tissue tape only a lot stronger, more like a masking tape! and come in lots of beautiful colours and designs as you can see above!

They also come in a very generous 15 metre lengths, and only cost $3.50ea with free post in Australia. The cheapest for these in Australia!

I was lucky enough to get a few tapes to design with, and made some simple cards below with these awesome tapes.

With the last one, I actually just used the plain white with black dot Washi, and what I did was to colour in strips of tape with my copics, so as to get many colours!

I think this is a great idea to do to customise the tape to whatever project you are working on!

Hi There! Yes I've changed my blog again... I think I like this look a lot better, what do you think?

I have a card today for The Stamp Spot's August Challenge... which happens to be a sketch:

So heres my card:

Used Penny Black Alphabet stamps, just to make the word Hi!

Coloured with copics.

The colour combo I got from my background paper choice, green and orange.

and unbelievably not a cricut-cut in sight *faints* lol

In other news Paddy is doing great, happy as a clam! Talking, playing, dancing etc, he's not much fussed on the new food he has to eat from the vets, as its not a seed, its a pellet. But he will get there!

Had a LOVELY day yesterday when pal Kelly came over for a playdate!

She gave me some goodies:

I just really want to share with you a great cause that came to my attention this morning!

Theres a lovely Aussie Mum that has been diagnosed with inoperable cancerous tumour, and to help with the financial strains of the chemo and radiation treatments that will be ongoing, my friend Cheryl has put together a Digi website where 100% of all money raised goes to Lyndall:

So yeah basically everything here was courtesy of Jessica I just put it together and added the buttons!

Same with this one, only I cut this cute dragonfly from the Create-a-Critter Cartridge on my Cricut, and stickled his wings to make them glittery!

2 Animal Cards!

Hello There, I've put on a new blog design, what do you think?

Also today I've made TWO cards, using some awesome bits and pieces I received in a RAK off blog and facebook friend Jessica, checkout her blog; Bits and Pieces. ;-)

And here are my cards...

Used background paper and sentiment paper with border that I received off Jess, and cutout this monkey from my Create-a-Critter Cartridge to go onto this simple card.

Again used papers and sentiment from Jess, just added my own diecut bird, taken from the 3 Birds on Parade Cartridge.

I am rather pleased with how they came out.

MORE Christmas Cards

Yes I have MORE Christmas Cards to show you, and its not even Festive Friday!

I just got inspired this morning when looking at my Christmas paper stash and some base-cards I had, and got to work! Making 6 simple cards!

All cards use papers from Kaisercraft "Home for Christmas" Papers.

Which I think are really effective in pinks and brighter greens than normal!

I like something a bit different from the tradition dark reds and greens used for Christmas!

The last two as you can see used stamps, these are Smirk stamps that are super groovy gals from the "Christmas Decorations" set. Coloured with Copics.

I am really happy to have 6 more cards, to make my total now 39! WOW!!!

PS; The Vet called us today and Paddy won't get his stitches out til Tuesday now, because his 2nd in charge won't be there Tomorrow, and he himself has been called away to another suburb to do a surgery tomorrow also. So Paddy will just have to wait one more day!

But he is so bright and happy, and the vet heard him on the phone talking and chirping away in the backround and he reall seemed to love hearing him. Which is so nice to see. He really is a dedicated vet!

Festive Friday 14.0

Good Afternoon!

I amazingly was able to knock out some Christmas Cards, for a Festive Friday post!

But I have to admit they are very basic and not the greatest I don't think, but heres the 3 I did today...

These are all using cuts from my cricut, and using various different Cartridges, (but mostly the Christmas Cards cart) if you want to know about a specific cut just message me. Theres 6 different cartridge I was just playing around with the last 2 days to get cuts off, and just used what was on my desk today to create these cards.

So theres 3 more to my total, which makes 33!

Update on Paddy:

He is doing GREAT. Chatting and dancing his head off, getting LOTS of attention and love from everyone in the household. His stitches come out Monday, along with his Bucket Collar! So that will be great!

Will update you more Monday, and hope to have more creations if I can ever get my mojo back in tune!

I used a very textured looking paper with lots of layers, that reminded me of the Biscotti picture, also used a textured cardstock for my base, butterfly and sentiment cut, which were all cut using my Cricut, and the Sentimentals Cartridge!

Unstampabelles Challenge 2!

Good Morning!

Its time for a NEW Challenge at UNSTAMPABELLES!!!

There have been a few rule tweaks because of some unexpected entries and problems. Which means we are no longer accepting ANY form of stamps, including sentiments, digi's or pre-coloured images of any sort... We want this to be about just paper techniques and going back to basics.

There will be an added bonus challenge now, where you can get another entry toward the prize draw by using not only the challenge theme but the challenge technique as well! So twice the fun!

This months theme is WHEELS and this month technique is SPIRELLI.

Here is my DT Sample using both the theme and the technique:

Just a round card, with scallops, that I went around with embroidery floss to create the spirelli touch.

The Wheels being the tractor obviously.

This was all cut with the Cricut and using the Country Life Cartridge.

Don't you just love this groovy farm girl!?

So I really hope you enjoyed seeing this, and hope you might join in our UNSTAMPABELLES Challenge this month with Wheels and maybe add some Spirelli on there too!

Paddy is Home!

Good Afternoon!

Paddy is finally HOME! He actually was home yesterday afternoon! and was as bright and cheeky as ever, dancing and talking here in his new cage in my craftroom!

BUT this morning when I was out of the room, he managed to pull out some of his stitches in his Tummy and opened up the wound, altho it didn't bleed. So, another trip to the vets was in order and he had to get restitched, and an 'elizabethan collar' (bucket collar) put on his neck/head. That he is not one bit happy about!

The vet even said he attempted to feed him afterwards by holding the bowl upto him, but Paddy got stroppy and flung the container across the cage! lol...

I just got him to eat a bit for me, but he did the same after a while; lifted his bowl and attempted to throw it at me!!!

So I'm afraid he's just not going to be very happy while this collar is on, its just something we have had to do because the little bugger insists on pulling at his stitches!

Heres a Pic of him an his Collar:

As you can see we've got him situated on the bottom of his cage, with a cot doona and blanket on the bottom so as to be nice and soft for his tummy.

So looks like this is how he is going to be for the next 10 days until those stitches come out :-(

Sorry Little Buddy!

But he is too smart and cheeky for his own good!!!

Its either attack the collar, or attack the stitches, afraid the stitches are more important thus the collar.

So hopefully I might have something crafty tomorrow to show!

Progress Report: Paddy

Morning all, Just went to see my Paddy bird again this morning!

He is doing MUCH better! Looks a lot brighter and happier! The Crest feathers on the top of his head were up, and his eyes were more alert and looking about!

I gave him lots of head scratches and pats, and he loved that.

We got him dancing a bit, and got him to say scratch, but its still a bit of a strain for him to talk, I presume from the force-feeding? and I guess a bit of a strain on the diaphragm after the surgery on his tummy etc.

The vet is very happy with his progress, just wants him to eat more on his own, he is eating a little bit, but not as much as he would like. But we are thinking it should be OK for him to come home tomorrow!? But maybe not 'til the next day. We are just err-ing on the side of caution and taking things slow and easy, so as not to set the bird back at all.

Just have to reiterate that I am SO grateful to the Rose Avenue Veterinary Clinic in Coffs Harbour and all their wonderful staff.
